Temporary Heating at the Community Hall
– Important Safety Information for Hall Users
What’s the issue?
- The Community Hall’s main heating system is currently out of service.
- Temporary electric heaters are in use to keep the building usable.
- Temporary heaters increase fire risk, especially in a busy hall with mixed users.
- The heaters are safe only if used exactly as set out below.
What do I need to do?
- Do not move any heaters for any reason.
- Do not unplug, swap, or add heaters.
- Keep all furniture, bags, coats, decorations, and equipment well clear of heaters.
- Be aware that heaters can become hot — extra care is needed with children, elderly users, and people with reduced mobility.
- Switch all heaters off before leaving the hall.
Before you leave, carry out a quick visual check:
- No plugs overheating
- No damaged or trailing cables
- Heaters upright and unobstructed
Report any problems immediately to the Parish Clerk
